Do you use any organic ingredients?
Yes, these are our organic ingredients: milk, cream, eggs, butter, flour, confectioners’ sugar, espresso beans, berries and herbs.

Are any of your products vegan?
Our dark chocolate bars (61% and higher), dark chocolate solid pieces, Mexican Hot Chocolate Calaveras, and Maracuya ganache and Mango ganache bon bons are vegan.

What items are gluten free?
All of our chocolate bars, bon bons, truffles, seasonal chocolate solid pieces, flan, and coconut macaroons are gluten free.

Do you use corn syrup?
None of our products contain corn syrup.

Do you use hydrogenated fats or oils?
No.

Do any of your products contain glycerin or gelatin?
None.

What is ganache?
A mixture of cream and chocolate; it is the filling in most of our bon bons.

Which items contain Nuts?
Only 4 of our items contain nuts. Our Inca Peanut Butter bon bon contains peanuts, and the Almond Bar and the Fuerte Bar contain almonds. Our Polvorones (Mexican Wedding Cookies) contain pecans. However, all of our products are created in the same kitchen and share the same molds as chocolate and baked goods.

Is the chocolate Fair Trade?
Fair Trade is only one way to assess if producers of a product or crop are getting a fair price.  Fair Trade aims to review a variety of social and environmental criteria, and Fair Trade then certifies a producer of a product.  Fair Trade, however, does not evaluate quality.  We purchase chocolate that is made with the highest quality beans available – and we aim to purchase the chocolate from chocolate purveyors who have a direct relationship with cocoa farmers.  We believe that direct trade with cocoa farmers results in farmers making far more than “fair trade” standards.

How long will your chocolates stay fresh?
To fully appreciate the flavor of our chocolates, we recommend that you enjoy your chocolate bonbons within 2 weeks of purchase.  However, the full quality and flavor of our bonbons can be enjoyed for up to 4 weeks if carefully refrigerated.

Our bars and other solid pieces can stay fresh for up to 6 months when stored in a dry cool place.

How should I store the chocolates?

Our bonbons should be kept in a cool place no warmer than 68 degrees. If you plan to keep the bonbons longer than 2 weeks, they should be refrigerated and taken out to room temperature an hour before they are enjoyed.

Our chocolate bars are fine for up to 6 months if stored in a cool dry place. They are best when not-refrigerated.

Which of your confections are made with dairy?
Our truffles, bon bons, and desserts contain dairy in form of butter, milk and/or cream. The only bar including milk is our Cafe De La Olla (41%). Some solid pieces (41%) include milk chocolate. The only bon bon exceptions are the Maracuyá and Mango bon bons.

Which bon bons contain alcohol?
Four of our bon bons contain alcohol: Tequila butterflies, Mezcal, Kahlúa, and Flor de Caña Mint Mojito.
